Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, incumbent governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, immediate past governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, are among the many dignitaries expected on Sunday, February 13, at the inauguration and turbaning ceremony of Sheik Muhammad Salis Alao Adenekan as the Grand Caliph of Tijaniyyah for Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states.
A statement from Director General, Press and Media Affairs of the faith-based organization, Barr. O. A. Lawal, informed that the largest faith-based irganization in Nigeria, Faedah Tijaniyyah, under the leadership of His Eminence Fadhilat Sheikh Muhammad Mahi Ibrahim Niass, from Senegal, has concluded arrangements for the inauguration and turbaning ceremony, slated for OlusegunObasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL, Main Auditorium, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital by 11 a.m. prompt.
Sheikh Adenekan, before his appointment as the Grand Caliph for Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states, was the Grand Caliph of Ogun State chapter, and President General of the Grand Assembly of Faedah Tijaniyyah Wa Ibrahimiyah of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states.
He also doubles as the founder of Zumuratul Mubarakah wa Faedah Tijaniyyah Al Ibrahimiyah, ZUMFAT, International, a prayer group within the Tijaniyyah movement.
The event will be chaired by Chief Rafiu Ebiti, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Summit University, Offa, Kwara State.
Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo, GCFR, will grace the occasion as the Principal Guest of Honour, while the executive governor of Ogun State, Prince Abiodun, MFR, is the Special Guest of Honour and Chief Host of the historic event.
The distinguished Guest of Honour is former governor of Ogun State, Senator Amosun, while His Royal Majesty, Sultan M. A. Ola Yusuf, FCA, FCCA, the Baba Adeen Faedatu Tijaniyyah of Nigeria is the host.
The Guest Speaker is the Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Kwara State, Fadhilat Sheikh Dr. Sulaiman Faruoq Onikijipa, Al- Miskinu Billah.
The monumental event promises to be remarkable, as it gathers all the Caliphs and leaders of Faedat Tijaniyyah in all the South-Western states, Edo and Delta states inclusive. Equally, a good number of religious leaders across the country and all the crème de la crème in the society have given their commitments to grace the lifetime event.
