Cross River State. Commissioner for Education, Associate Prof. Stephen Odey, has given reasons why he attended the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, management meeting with education commissioners from the the 36 states of the federation alongside State Universal Basic Education Commission, SUBEB, yesterday.
Odey disclosed this during a telephone conversation with our correspondent Tuesday in Calabar.
The commissioner, who gave insight to the ongoing three-day UBEC management meeting with his counterparts and executive secretaries and all the executive chairmen of SUBEB from across the federation stated that the meeting will help him, his counterparts and other participants rub minds on issues affecting primary and post primary education in the nation.
Odey, who spoke on the theme ‘Strengthening Partnership for Quality Delivery of Basic Education in Nigeria,’ averred that the event, ongoing at the UBEC Digital Resource Centre, Abuja, afforded him and several other stakeholders the opportunity to familiarize themselves with one another to chart a way forward for effective and efficient service delivery in the nation’s educational sector.
