The member of the House of Representatives representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku federal constituency of Cross River State, Hon. Peter Akpanke, has praised Governor Bassey Otu for his significant developmental achievements in Cross River State, within his short stay in office.

Akpanke made the commendation on Monday, in his office at the House of Representatives in Abuja, during a courtesy visit by a delegation led by the Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters.

Hon. Akpanke highlighted significant projects by the state government, including the renovation of roads across the three senatorial districts of the state, and improvements to other state infrastructure.

He averred that these efforts are clear indicators of Governor Otu’s commitment to transforming the state and warrant robust support from all stakeholders.

He further remarked that under Otu’s leadership, Cross River State is positioned to regain its former prominence, with expectations to surpass current benchmarks by the conclusion of the governor’s term.

Akpanke expressed absolute confidence in Hon. Chris Mbu-Ogar’s appointment as Special Adviser to the governor on National Assembly Matters, emphasizing that Mbu-Ogar has capacity to turn a desert to a fruitful forest, hence, has never failed in any assignment given him.

Speaking earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on National Assembly Matters, Hon. Mbu-Ogar emphasized on the need for Cross Riverians at all levels, especially the National Assembly, to align their interests with the state government’s vision and collaborate towards advancing a unified Cross River State.

He pointed out that Otu’s bipartisan approach will birth a more prosperous and resilient state.

Mbu-Ogar also commended Hon. Akpanke for his outstanding performance in the House of Representatives, despite it being his first term.

He said, “Your contributions so far have established you as one of the best-performing members.”
