The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Stephen Adi Odey, has solicited the support of Nigeria Bar Association Young Lawyers Forum, NBA-YLF for the Governor Bassey Edet Otu-led administration, which he said has the capacity to turn around the fortunes of the state in line with the People First Agenda.
Odey made the remarks while speaking with a delegation of NBA-YLF who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Calabar on Friday.
He urged the Forum to support and partner with the state government to deliver on its mandate for the good of residents of the state.
Odey, who is immediate past senator representing Cross River North senatorial district, expressed joy over the lawyers’ visit to his office, assured them of his willingness to join hands with the Otu’s administration in transforming the education sector in line with Governor Otu’s blueprint.
In his earlier remarks, the Secretary of the NBA-YLF, Calabar branch, Prince Daniel Ekpo, Esq, lauded the commissioner, saying, “Your appointment as Education Commissioner by Governor Bassey Otu, is well deserving.
“In fact, the news of your nomination and subsequent appointment did not meet us as a surprise, considering your verifiable track records in politics and as diligent and proactive legal practitioner.
“Interestingly, we have no doubt whatsoever that you will bring your wealth of knowledge and experience first as former Executive Chairman, Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, secondly as a former federal lawmaker, to bear by formulating policies in line with the People First Agenda of Governor Otu.
