The leadership of the Omoluabi Coalition Group, a socio-political group is unequivocally concerned to draw the attention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the need to appreciate all those who worked tirelessly for his emergence as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The group added that this concern has precipitated its particular request to President Tinubu to appoint the Global President of Yoruba Council Worldwide, Aare Barrister Oladotun Hassan, who in all thick and thin of the elections and continuously till date stood firm to fight against all manners of attacks attempted at bringing down President Tinubu, as a minister.
This request was contained in a statement released by the Director-General of the Omoluabi Coalition Group, Tunji Balogun.
The statement added, “However, to whom much is given, much is expected, it is of noteworthy that Aare Hassan championed and risk all firestorms to face the Afenifere Group led by Pa Ayo Adebanjo on Channels TV to stamp Yoruba Council Worldwide endorsement of Asiwaju Tinubu’s presidential mandate; afterwards he has continued to remain undeterred and unshaken, despite the huge challenges faced.
“Similarly, it is noteworthy that during the quest of the Peter Obi and Chinedu Rhodes Vivor-led Labour Party, LP’s bid to overrun Lagos State, through its evil-scripted machinations of Lagos is ‘A No Man’s Land,’ Hassan mobilized supports for the re-election of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, via live appearances on Arise TV and organized several press conferences both in Lagos and Abuja in full defence of the Yoruba heritage.”
Balogun added, “I am a witness of the Northern and Southern parley organized in Abuja by Aare Hassan; most surprisingly is that all these efforts were self funded without any support from the party or any individual(s).
“He visited various Yoruba leaders and kings to solicit more support at various points in time, especially the Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife; His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Saheed Ademola Elegushi of Ikateland, as well as countless groups across ethnic nationalities.”
The group further insisted that it was based on this premise that it was appealing to the President and all well-meaning Nigerians, irrespective of ethnicity to support our clarion call and speak up for the inclusion of Yoruba Council’s versatile, competent, proactive and reliable nominee – Aare Barr. Oladotun Hassan, for ministerial appointment, adding, “He deserves it and he best represents our interest in President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.”
The group described Hassan as a brilliant lawyer, who had served as the Secretary of the Epe, Lagos branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA; Secretary General, Nigeria Ethnic Nationalities Youth Council; a human rights crusader and an advocate for equitable justice, rule of law and good governance, imbued with exemplary leadership qualities.
Pledging its unflinching loyalty and supports to the administration of President Tinubu, the Yoruba Council Worldwide stated that it holds Mr. President in high esteem in anticipation of granting its request for inclusiveness.
