The governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, who was inaugurated for a second term in office on 29th May, 2023, has approved the appointment of 12 Special Advisers, SAs, Senior Special Assistants, SSAs, General Managers and an Executive Secretary.
The appointment of these aides is the first since he took over as governor for second term, after the dissolution of the cabinet who served in various capacities during his first tenure.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Principal Secretary, Government House, Maiduguri, Barr. Mustapha Ali Busuguma, which was made available to our correspondent on Tuesday.
First on the list of the new appointments is Malam Isa Gusau, who is returning as Special Adviser, SA, on Media and Strategy. Hon. Baba Shiekh Haruna, is also reappointed as SSA on Media.
Others include: Hon. AbdulRahman Ahmed Bundi, SSA on New Media, Hon. Ambassador Adamu Abbas, Chief Policy Analyst and Researcher, and Hon. Engr. Baba Bukar Gujbawu, SA on Monitoring and Evaluation
Also reappointed are: Hon. Dr. Mairo Mandara, Chief Adviser and Coordinator, Sustainable Development, Partnerships and Humanitarian Support; Hon. Ahmed Sanda, SA on Protocol and Engr. Ibrahim Idris SA, Special Projects.
Other appointees include: Hon. Ibrahim Dangana, Relay, who is now Special Assistant on Protocol; Hon. Umar Mohammed – June 12,- who is appointed the General Manager, Borno Radio Television, BRTV; Hon. Dr. Babakura Mamman Gadai, Executive Secretary, Borno State Agency for Sustainable Development, Partnerships and Humanitarian Response, and finally, Tpl Liman Gana Mustapha, who is to serve as acting General Manager,
Borno State Urban Planning and Development Board.
Busuguma noted that “all the appointments are with immediate effect; and a date will be communicated to the Special Advisers for the swearing-in.”
He added, “His Excellency, the Executive Governor made these appointments based on personal merits and records of previous years in public service.
“The governor congratulates all the appointees and expects nothing short of excellence and integrity from all appointees.”
