Ahead of the June 18, 2022 gubernatorial election and his rumoured presidential ambition, the governor of Ekiti State, John Kayode Fayemi, and his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi are reportedly squandering the meagre resources available to develop Ekiti State for their personal selfish ambition and desires.
Investigation revealed that in order to sell the candidature of the imposed gubernatorial candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, Fayemi’s wife, Bisi, is gifting Ekiti traditional rulers N5 million each, while ‘baales’ in the state get N2 million each.
For his presidential project, Fayemi is doling out N10 million to each first class traditional rulers in the South-West, while other categories of traditional rulers get N5 million each and baales get N2 million per head.
A competent source who craved anonymity sited Governor Fayemi at the palace of the Osemawe of Ondo around 3pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, afternoon and confirmed that he gifted the paramount ruler of Ondo Kingdom N10 million.
This is just as workers in the state are battling with arrears of salaries owed them by the Fayemi administration.
The governor and his wife are hell-bent on imposing their preferred candidate, Oyebanji on the people, to according to them, to “cover their tracks.”
While the Ekiti governor and his wife are playing ‘Father nad Mother Christmas’ around Ekiti State and the South-West, Ekiti people are wallowing in abject poverty and untold hardship, occasioned by the governor’s maladministration.
Efforts to reach Fayemi’s spokesman, Yinka Oyebode, for his reaction were unfruitful as calls made to his mobile line went unanswered.
