At least, two lives were said to have been lost on Wednesday, when a fuel-laden tanker exploded along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, near the Sagamu interchange.
The multiple accidents, said to have occurred around 6.05a.m, involved a Mack truck, a Howo Sino truck, a mini truck and a Bajaj motorcycle, all without registration numbers.
Officers and men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and the Fire Service were seen battling to contain the fire, rescue victims and clear the road of any obstructions.
The FRSC Public Education Officer for Sector Command, Ogun Sector Command, Superintendent Route Commander Florence Okpe, said that the accident was caused by over-speeing on the part of one of the trucks.
