A waitress at a local restaurant in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, has been crushed to death around Arca Santa Event Centre, along Ajasse Ipo road.
Eye witnesses said that the middle aged woman was sent on an errand by her boss and while on the errand, walking along the highway, the motor car; a Toyota Camry (Muscle), veered off the road and crushed her. She reportedly died on the spot.
It was further gathered that were it not for the timely arrival of the men of the nearby Police ‘A’ Division, the driver of the car, with the registration number; Lagos AAA 261 EX, would have been lynched by the irate mob which instantly gathered.
Kwara State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Jonathan Owoade, who confirned the incident, said that the body of the victim had been taken to the State General Hospital, Ilorin; while both the vehicle and driver were as at Saturday being held at ‘A’ Division of the State Police Command.
