Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Ogun State chapter of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders And Owners Association of Nigeria, ACOMORAN, has donated vehicles worth over N15 million for the campaign of Governor Dapo Abiodun and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Chairman of Ogun ACOMORAN, Kayode Amos Sowunmi, while handing over the Toyota Sienna vehicles to members at the ACOMORAN secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Monday, vowed that the association would run a massive campaign to ensure the victory of Abiodun, Tinubu and other APC candidates in the state in the coming elections.
Sowunmi stated that the procurement of the vehicles was to ease movement of members during the campaign across the 20 local governments of the state.
He registered ACOMORAN’s loyalty to Governor Abiodun, even as he warned members of the association against anti-party activities in the state.
He said, “Dapo Abiodun is our own priority. We will expel anyone doing anti-party activities.
“We have donated these vehicles for the campaign of Dapo Abiodun, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the state. Our people are complaining about mobility, hence, the donation. The vehicles will ease movement from one senatorial district to the other during the campaign.
The chairman explained that the choice of Abiodun was informed by the governor’s giant strides in the state and the several benefits the association has benefited from his administration.
Sowunmi stated that ACOMORAN is thriving under the current administration, unlike the previous administration, adding that the only way the association could compensate the governor is to ensure his re-election.
He added, “We must do everything possible to re-elect Governor Abiodun. We want the governor to know that his success is our own concern and we want him to know that we mean this business. By next year, he will surely win.”
