Land speculators in Lagos and those allegedly hellbent on tarnishing the image of Alhaji Abiodun Jimoh Ishola, have been handed serious warning to desist forthwith or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.
Counsel to Alhaji Ishola, Chief Adekunle Funmilayo, who gave the warning notice in Lagos during an interaction with journalists in Tuesday warned the land speculators and those who he claimed are obsessed with dragging Ishola and his family name in the mud to stop forthwith, insisting that legal action will soon be taken against them and some broadcasting stations that are airing their false information.
Chief Funmilayo said, “We wish to alert the general public of the current circulation of lies, misinformation, fabrications and deliberate mischief about the documents validating the title of the Jimoh Ishola family on 1,060 acres of land in Alimosho and its environs, which is the subject matter of Registered Deed of Conveyance, dated 18th December, 1974, registered as No 53 at page 53 in Volume 1478 at the Lands Registry, Ikeja Lagos.”
The lawyer insisted that some misguided people, among who are members of Akapo Olubunmi family and Bakare family, who grouped and are conspiring to maligning the character of Alhaji Abiodun Jimoh Ishola, a property consultant, popular businessman and politician in Lagos State, in order to blackmail him to surrender his personal inheritance to them.
He said their attempt to deny the validity of the title will surely end up in futility, because there have been judicial decisions in ID/1533/96, ID/505M/2009 to ID/779/2010, ID775/2013, ID/3526LMW/2016 and so many others, confirming the said deed.
Chief Funmilayo warned the general populace to avoid dealing with land speculators who have nothing on the land so as not to be ripped off.
He said these same people instigated his Ishola being charged to the Yaba Chief Magistrate Court, where he was exonerated in the DPP’s legal advice and the charge was struck out.
He added, “They are running from one police station to another, including Idimu, Zone 2, Lagos, and FCID, Abuja, boasting of their high connections. But on each occasion, Alhaji Abiodun Jimoh Ishola has always emerged unscathed.
“So many judgements are in Abiodun Jimoh Ishola’s favour, yet the losers in court always resorted to tarnishing his image.
“He has instructed us, as his counsels, to commence legal action against anyone who further defame his character.”
Also speaking with journalists, Alhaji Ishola opined that he inherited the said land from his late father, who had a valid registered title on same, which he said can be verified at the Land Registry, Alausa – Ikeja.
He said those maligning him and his family’s names are doing so in order to take his inheritance from him.
