The Bridge Leadership Foundation, TBLF, founded by one time governor of Cross River State Liyel Imoke, has on concluded the training of 3,500 youths in creative economy to assist them overcome the effect of economic hardship faced by the nation in recent times.
The 14th TBLF Conference, took place at the Conference Hall of the International Conventional Centre, Calabar, where 11 trainees were imparted with lskills in the area of visual story telling and photography, digital content creation, script/screen writing, acting as well as creative venture fundraising.
Speaking on the theme, ‘Creative Economy: Building Nigeria’s Future Through Youth,’ Imoke harped on transformative potentials of the creative economy, with resource persons drawn mainly from the entertainment industry and the business world.
Imoke said that with the training, youths can become self reliant to overcome the challenges that came with the hard times.

TBLF Programme Manager, Rosemond Archibong, said, “For the first time in 14 years, we are introducing this Masterclass, which focuses on creative economy. The training is free of charge.

“The purpose of this Masterclass is to build the skills of young people, especially those in the creative space. We know that creative economy is the new focus now.

“TBLF seeks to make young people core professionals in the creative industry, especially in areas like acting, content creation, photography, script writing amongst other endeavours and skills.

“Our harsh economy does not permit any young person to wait endlessly for a white collar jobs which are simply not there, young people could earn a living through creativity.

The training aims at positioning them for opportunities in the industry which could spring up anytime.”
