…Promises To Turn Around Fortunes Of Ekiti
As the June 18 governorship election in Ekiti State draws nearer, Accord Party, AP, gubernatorial candidate for the governorship election, Basorun Reuben Famuyibo, BRF, on Friday took his door-to-door campaign to Erio-Ekiti and Ido-Ile-Ekiti, where he met with his supporters and shared his vision and plans for Ekiti State and its people if given the opportunity to emerge as governor of Ekiti State.
At the town hall meetings, held with Accord Party members and supporters of Basorun Famuyibo in the two communities, he told them that he was in the race for governor to liberate Ekiti State and the people from the shackles of poverty and hunger the present and previous administrations in the state have perpetually subjected the people to.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Olajide Omojolomoju, and made available to the media, Basorun Famuyibo lamented that Ekiti people have no business with hunger and poverty, even as he condemned the presidential aspiration of the state governor, Kayode Fayemi.
He said, “Our governor wants to be President of Nigeria, but his people in Ekiti are hungry. Salaries are being owed the civil servants and pensioners are being denied the reward of the service to the state. Yet, he is busy sharing millions to traditional rulers across the country for his presidential ambition.”
Insisting that enough is enough of Ekiti people being taken for a ride by the people in government, Basorun Famuyibo challenged his audience to do away with the slogan of ‘vote and cook stew,’ take their destiny in their hands and vote out those who have impoverished them.
He also lamented a situation where graduates have become okada riders because there is no employment and they need to survive, promising that his administration would not only create employment opportunities, but create enabling environment for those who have creative and business ideas to thrive.
He express sadness at what the people of Ekiti is going through now due to the maladministration of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and All Progressives Congress, APC, administrations under former governor, Ayo Fayose and incumbent governor Fayemi respectively, promising that a vote for him to become governor of Ekiti is a vote to change the history and fortune of Ekiti and its people for the better.
The people of the two communities promised that they would not only vote for Famuyibo, but pledged to also mobilize their families and friends to vote for him on June 18.
