Board of Trustees, BoT, and members of Esan Leadership Group, ELG, a political-cultural group of Edo Central denatorial district extraction, has announced the planned official hosting of the leading aspirant for the coming Edo State governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr.Asue Ighodalo, an Esan son in Lagos State.
The event which, will come up on March 8, 2024, will hold at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja.
Dr. Ighodalo, a seasoned lawyer, economist, and boardroom guru and front runner in the 2024 Edo governorship race, will at the civic reception be decorated with the prestigious National Chronicle Newspaper Man of the Year Award.
This was made known in a statement by the President of the group,Tim Okojie Ave, and National Secretary, Patrick Okohue.
Ave is also the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of National Chronicle newspaper.
The statement reads in part, “We decided to host Dr Asue Ighodalo in Lagos to further showcase his acceptance among Esan people in Lagos State and beyond, even when many of them had hitherto never related with him closely. It will also serve as opportunity to showcase him to the people of Edo State across the world.”
The reception, the statement added, will be attended by the creme de la creme of Esan nation, and well-wishers.
Others to be honoured at the event include frontline leaders from Edo Central senatorial district, including former President of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, Comrade Peter Esele; Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Classic Marine Services Limited, Elder Famous Enearu, JP; and founder of Mudiame University, and frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the Labour Party, LP, Prof. S.E. Eromosele, among others.
Side attractions at the event will include Esan cultural display, portraying the rich heritage of Esan people and other activities.
