The governor of Kebbi State, Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, has reiterated the commitment of the Kebbi State government to sustain proper care of children living with disabilities at the School for Special Needs, Zauro, near Birnin Kebbi.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to the Kebbi State governor, Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari, and made available to the media.

The statement added that the aim of the commitment is to make the PLWDs useful, not only to themselves, but also to useful to the society at large.

Governor Bagudu gave this assurance last Saturday during an inspection tour to the school to assess the level of ongoing rehabilitation in the institution.

Senator Bagudu, who went round different units in the school, expressed satisfaction about the progress of work and the quality of job done.

He also interacted with pupils hitherto living with various disabilities, who were taken to Maidugiri for treatment, and who are now able to walk and speak normally.

The governor mandated local government chairmen, parents and guardians to ensure that all students yet to resume school were back to their studies.

An official of the school, Hajiya Aishatu Mohammed, who accompanied the students to Maiduguri express her happiness that all those treated have regained their health.
