About 50,000 persons have been mobilized to show solidarity to the presidential rally of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council as the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate and his running mate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shetimma visit Cross River State.
The visit which would have about 50,000 participants at the U.J Esuene Township Stadium on Tuesday January 31, 2023, to rally round Tinubu and Shetima.
Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, LOC, for the rally, Senator John Owan Enoh, disclosed this on Monday in Calabar, while unveiling the programme for the Tinubu/Shetima rally to journalists at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre Calabar.
The former Chairman, Finance and Appropriation Committee at the lower chamber of the National Assembly, stated that members of the APC are guaranteed to attend the event without prejudice calling on all party supporters residing in the state to rally round the APC presidential candidate and his running mate, who Enoh described as best candidates for the presidential seat in 2023.
Onoh said, “Cross River State is ready to host Asiwaju Tinubu at the mega rally. We are fully prepared to play host to our very distinguished candidates.”
The LOC chairman appealed to voters in the state to take cognisance of Tinubu’s track record in the area of governance, business and human capital development.
He said that the former governor of Lagos State’s track record should endear him to the people, stressing that a vote for Tinubu is a vote for vision; given the fact that it is only Tinubu who is endowed with capacity to turn around the fortunes of the state and the country.
He added, “We expect that our people will vote for him massively because of his track record.
“He has contributed significantly to democracy in the country and has done so much for Lagos State as a governor of that state.
“The defining thing in the coming election is not the Muslim-Muslim ticket or returning to the North, but the unity of the country.”
Enor promised that if given opportunity to mount the throne, Tinubu’s priority would be the welfare of Nigerians, adding that the APC remains the hope for a united Nigeria.
Enor who is also a former senator representing Cross Central senatorial district at the National Assembly stated that the party is in collaboration with security agents to beef up security for the mega rally.
