The governor of Borno State and the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives’ Congress, APC, in Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly election s in Borno State, Professor Babagana Akara Zulum, has been declared win er if the election.
The iI dependent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Returning Officer for Borno State, Professor Jude Tsammani Rabo, who is also the Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State, in declaring Zulum of the APC as the governor-elect, said that the incumbent governor polled 545,543 votes.
Zulum defeated his closest rival, the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mohammed Ali Jajari, who mamaged to score 81,850 votes only.
