The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, has commended the House of Assembly member-elect for Akamkpa state constituency 1 in the Cross River State House of Assembly CRHA, Ntufam Okon Owuna, over his victory at the just concluded polls.
The youth council described his victory as well deserved, stressing that with Owuna in the House, they are sure that the fortunes of the constituency would surely be turned around; given the fact that the House of Assembly member-elect is a man of the people and one who has the passion for carrying people along.
The Chairman of the Akamkpa chapter of the youth council, Comrade Prince Ekumi-Eyen Nyong, made the remarks during a courtsy visit to Owuna’s residence on Thursday in Calabar.
He said that Owuna’s emergence as the member-elect was a testimony that he was truly “a man of the people,” stressing that with him on the saddle, a lot would be archived for the constituency.
Similarly, a statement issued by the NYCN Akamkpa chapter, signed by the chapter chairman Comrade Nyong, said that Owuna’s victory is a “proof and confirmation of the people’s confidence in your leadership capabilities and a proof of the unbreakable bond of friendship and solidarity between you and the good people of Akamkpa Local Government Area.”
The NYCN thanked the good people of Akamkpa state constituency 1 for standing solidly behind Owuna in making the dream come true.
The NYCN chairman and members of his exco, in their goodwill message stated, “We followed with studious interest, your well-deserved victory in the Cross River State governorship and House of Assembly election on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
“It is also a proof of your sterling attributes – hard work, political sagacity, perseverance and tenacity.
“The fact that you are imbued with these traits and yet remain humble is what makes you a consummate politician and leader of the people, whose cause you champion unreservedly.
“We also congratulate our great people of Akamkpa state constituency 1, and the good people of Cross River State, whose steadfastness, courage and vigilance made this sweet victory possible.
“We urge you to immediately focus on taking the necessary steps as you prepare to run a government that will satisfy the huge expectations of the people of Akamkpa state constituency 1.”
In his reaction, the House of Assembly member-elect, Ntufam Owuna, reassured the youth council of his commitment to continually support the course of advancing youth affairs whenever he is called upon.
He promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him and charged the leadership of the youth council to be focused and act as good ambassadors of the people, as much is expected of them, by youths of the constituency.
He assured the youth of his willingness to always respond to their calls when need be, saying, ”I belong to you all and you all belong to me.”
