Erstwhile senator who represented Ebonyi North senatorial district and former commissioner representing the South-East at the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, distinguished Senator Anthony Agbo, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as a ministerial-designate.
Bianca, widow of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, was recently designated as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in the cabinet reshuffle announced by the President.
Senator Agbo, in a statement he personally signed, said, “It is one of the most spectacular, strategic and calculated actions President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken, in the light of the volatile socio-economic and political mood of this country at this material time, being the recent appointment of Her Excellency, Amb. Dr. Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, as a minister into his cabinet.”
Senator Agbo averred that “Bianca Ojukwu is an extraordinary personality of multi-dimensional endowments, but who to the Nigerian public has for long lived under the mask of only two identities; her remarkable beauty and that of being the celebrated wife of Chief Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
“But Bianca, a lawyer, politician, businesswoman, an illustrious and renowned diplomat, a multiple international beauty pageant titles holder, and outstanding intellectual with acute cerebral power, is also a remarkable repository of utilitarian knowledge, extant vision and flaming imagination.”
The former parliamentarian added that “Bianca knows and understands the world and it’s cultures in and out, in their depths, bits and pieces, both in their historical and contemporary perspectives. She possesses enviable measure and volumes of cultural literacy, and hence is firmly abreast of the intricate dynamics of the global society.
“Coming home, Bianca’s name is always a soothing balm and a sentimental connecting cord to every heart and mind in Igbo land.
“Hence, Bianca’s appointment by President Tinubu is such a refreshing, fresh and ventilating injection into the current administration on the one hand, as well as a fabulous, disarming and sentimental gift to every family in Igbo land on the other hand; to brighten the forlorn and sombre mood of the Igbo people over their precarious situation in the Nigerian entity.
“And with the coming of Bianca into this administration, I can readily see Nnamdi Kanu soonest walking out of the penal hold of the Nigerian state.
“I give ten ‘gbosas’ to President Tinubu!”
