President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the redeployment of Engr. Abubakar Momoh from the Ministry of Youth to the Ministry of Niger Delta Development.
A statement from presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale confirmed this in Sunday.
The statement quoted Ngelale as saying that the Ministry of Youth is to be re-assigned to a minister-designate soon.
The ministers-designate assigned to the Ministries of Transportation, Interior and Marine and Blue Economy were also reshuffled.
Adegboyega Oyetola is redeployed as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, while Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has been redeployed to the Ministry of Interior. The Ministry if Transportation is now assigned to Hon. Sa’idu Alkali, affirmed. Ngelale.
In a related development, the Ministers of State in the oil and gas sector are now domiciled in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and are now designated as: Senator Heineken Lokpobiri is the Minister of State, Oil, for Petroleum Resources; and Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo is the Minister of State, Gas, for Petroleum Resources
The President, according to Ngelale has also approved the renaming of the Ministry of the Environment and Ecological Management as the Ministry of the Environment.
The reassignment, reshuffling and renaming takes immediate effect.
