Leading presidential aspirant and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been described as a political heavyweight who is also a reference point in the political history of Nigeria.
This was the submission of the Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Professor Adeolu Akande, in his congratulatory message to Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State on his 70th birthday.
I the congratulatory message, Akande expressed joy that God, in His infinite mercy, has spared the life of Asiwaju Tinubu to enjoy the fruits of his labour.
Describing the former governor of Lagos State as a leader who has built many great men and women and also made immense contributions to the socio-economic and political growth of the country, Akande said that Senator Tinubu brought his financial wizardry to bear and turned around the economic fortune of Lagos State, while he h is sway as it’s helmsman.
He said, “It is my joy to felicitate with a leader of leaders, who has built many great men and women in Nigeria. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu remains a reference point in Nigerian political history. He has no doubt made immense contributions to the socio-political and economic growth of Nigeria.
“As a former governor of Lagos State, the nation’s commercial nerve centre, Senator Tinubu’s footprints will forever remain indelible. He indeed brought to bear his financial wizardry that turned the economic fortune of Lagos around.
“The enviable position which Lagos occupies today as the fifth largest economy in Africa is to the glory of God and through the intellectual acumen of Asiwaju Tinubu.
“Senator Tinubu is a political colossus who has made great contributions to sustain democracy in Nigeria since the begining of the fourth republic. He is a dogged defender of democracy.
“As governor, he led Lagos State to secure a landmark judgement against the Federal Government at the Supreme Court on the creation of local government development areas, LCDAs, which are still in operation today.
“His political activism has impacted hugely on the contemporary Nigerian federal system.”
Professor Akande prayed God to grant the APC leader many more years to serve humanity.
