No fewer than three persons were feared dead and many houses burnt following a bloody clash between Fulani and Tiv farmers in Pangari village of Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State, residents told our correspondent on Monday

A local resident, Pius Gura, told our correspondent that a Fulani herder reportedly invaded a beans farm belonging to a Tiv farmer, Mr. Dooior James, in Pangari village; and while the farmer sought for compensation, the herder removed cutlass and killed him.

Gura narrated that when the brothers of the Tiv man, who were at home got the information, they mobilized and attacked the Fulani man and kill him which escalated the situation.

“Same day, at about 6pm, the brothers of the Fulani man, who was killed also mobilized and attacked the village of the farmer, killing one person and setting so many houses ablaze,” Gura said.

Confirming the attack, Caretaker Chairman of Bali Local Government council, Prince Musa Mahmood, said three persons were killed in the unfortunate incident, adding that the killing of the farmer by the Fulani man was the reason for the escalation.

Mahmood who said normalcy has since returned to the area, noted that security personnel have been drafted to the place.
