The Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed shock an sadness over the sudden death of the Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, LCDA, of the state, Hon. Olufunmi Olatunji.

In a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu described the late council boss as an “extremely loyal politician and an invaluable asset to the All Progressives Council, APC.”

The governor said that the deceased lived a fulfilled life and impacted lives through selfless service to his family, the people of Eti-Osa East LCDA, Lagos State and humanity at large.

Governor Sanwo-Olu described Olatunji’ demise as a big loss not only to the council, but the state.

Recall that Olatunji, the chairman of Eti-Osa East LCDA and the APC chairmanship candidate for the July 24 local government elections in Lagos State, died on Monday night after a brief illness.

Sanwo-Olu said, “The death of Hon. Olufunmi Olatunji is a painful and great loss to Lagos State. I am saddened by the death of this fine gentleman; a loyal party man and committed democrat.

“There is no doubting the fact that he would be missed by the entire political class, particularly Eti-Osa East LCDA, Lagos APC family and the state as a whole.”

Condoling with the immediate family of the deceased, the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Lagos State APC, Conference 57, and the entire people of Eti-Osa East LCDA over the death of the late council boss, Sanwo-Olu also prayed that God would grant “the soul of our beloved Hon. Olufunmi Olatunji eternal rest and comfort the immediate and political family of the deceased, as well as friends and people of Eti-Osa East LCDA.”
