The Lagos State governor and COVID-19 Incident Commander, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved the increment of hazard allowance for health workers in the state from N5,000 to N25,000 for the month of April, 2020.
Making the announcement of the increment in a circular dated April 21, 2020, the state Head of Service, HoS, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunlola, stated that the increment was “in appreciation of the dedication of all health officers in Lagos State to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, as well as their daily hazardous exposure to the highly contagious disease.”
The circular added, “The gesture is an incentive to all health workers in Lagos as frontline responders in the fight against the pandemic.”
The HoS expressed the belief that the health officers would in turn reciprocate the governor’s gesture with increased doggedness and enthusiasm towards their duty in all the state health facilities.
