The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, clocked 40 years as the head of the influential and charismatic church on Thursday.
Son if the respected pastor, Leke Adeboye, drew the attention of people to this when he shared a photo on Instagram, captioned, “Celebrating 40 years at the top.”
Pastor Adeboye, popularly known within the Redeemed family as Daddy GO, joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1973 and began interpreting Yoruba to English for Pastor Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi.
He became the General Overseer of the church in 1981, succeeding late Papa Akindayomi.
Adeboye, 78, has expanded the RCCG to about 200 countries, with more than 14 million branches in Nigeria.
