The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, has expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the good people of state for the kind reception, warm hospitality, genuine love and benign affability shown him and the entire APC team in the course of the just concluded state-wide campaign tour of the party.

Prince Otu thanked the people for the success of the campaign tour, while noting that their maturity, decency and civility created an atmosphere of peace in all the places visited across the 18 local government areas of the state during the campaign outing.

The leading gubernatorial candidate promised the people that all the issues they raised in his interactions with them during the campaign would be given utmost attention and effectively tackled when he assumes office as the next Cross River helmsman.

In a press release he personally signed, Otu said, “Dear Cross Riverians, let me sincerely convey my utmost gratitude and deep appreciation to you for your warm reception and hospitality accorded me and my team within the past few weeks, during our just concluded state-wide campaign and consultative tour.

“In particular, I wish to appreciate our leader and governor, Senator Ben Ayade, and our revered traditional rulers in all the 18 LGAs and their chiefs, and critical stakeholders.

“I wish to also appreciate all our local government chairmen, ward and chapter executives of our party, women, youths, elders, party faithful and many others who sacrificed so much to ensure the success of the tour. Your support was profound, humbling and total.

“Let me also specially thank the chairman of our great party, Barr. Alphonsus Eba, the State Working Committee, SWC, and notable leaders, who made the campaign a memorable one.

“My engagements and interactions with you on areas of interest are well received and will be addressed with utmost priority.

“Together, we will build a peaceful and prosperous Cross River State.”

Similarly, former Senate Leader and former Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, thanked the people of Ikom, where the grand finale of the Cross River APC campaign rally was held, for coming out in large numbers to embrace the party and its candidates.

Ndoma-Egba, a son of the soil, who has been standing firmly behind Prince Otu in his full support for the ‘back-to-south’ movement, said Ikom people made him proud with the tumultuous crowd at the grand finale, which was a clear indication of their pure, undiluted love for APC.

The erstwhile NDDC chief, who has gone round the wards and units in Ikom, while engaging various stakeholders and groups to canvass votes for APC, further expressed confidence that the party’s victory in the state was assured.
