The Polytechnic, Ibadan, branch of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU, has congratulated the governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on his re-election for a second term in office in last Saturday’s gubernatorial election held in Oyo State.

In a message of congratulations, signed by the Chairman of The Polytechnic, Ibadan branch of the NASU, Comrade Ibraheem Adekunle Akande, and made available to CompassNG, the union described Governor Makinde’s victory at the polls as “deserving,” adding that it was the reward of his “keeping faith with the people in his first term” through his deliverance of democracy dividends to the people.

Challenging Governor Makinde to reward the people of Oyo State, who reposed confidence in him, by ensuring that he delivers more dividends of democracy in his second term, Comrade Akande reminded the governor that the reward for hard work is more hard work.

The statement reads, “On behalf of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU, The Polytechnic Ibadan branch, I extend our felicitation with Your Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde on your victory at the just concluded governorship election in Oyo State.

“Your victory at the poll is a testament that you have kept faith with the people of Oyo State in your first term that is fast running to a close, by delivering to them the dividends of democracy.

“This faith-keeping is what elicited their voting for you massively across every region of the state.

“Your Excellency, the reward for hard work is more hard work; we therefore enjoined you to repay the confidence reposed in you by the good people of Oyo State with the deliverance of more dividends of democracy.

“Once again, congratulations on your well deserved victory, Your Excellency.”
