Five governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and some aggrieved party leaders have said that the group is still open for reconcilation.

The group, which Oyo State governor, S’eyi Makinde, had earlier said is known as PDP Integrity Group, made this known after a closed door meeting held at the Southern Sun Hotel, Ikoyi Lagos.

Speaking on behalf of the group after it’s closed-door meeting, former governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah Jang, said that they are still open for reconcilation.

Jang said, “After a careful review of developments in our party, we have decided to stand on the decisions we took in our Port Harcourt meeting.

“And we hereby reiterate that the window for reconcilation in our great party, the PDP, remains open.”

Rivers State governor, Nyesome Woke bad his allies used the opportunity of the Lagos meeting to review recent developments in the party before taking its next step.

Those at the meeting include Governor Wike, Governor Makinde, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.

Others at the meeting are: former governors of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko; Ekiti State, Mr Ayo Fayose; Cross River, Mr Donald Duke; Plateau State, Jang and former Deputy National Chairman, South, of the PDP, Chief Bode George.

Also present are: former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mr Bello Adoke; Deputy National Chairman, South, of the PDP, Mr Taoferk Arapaja; Senator Nasif Suleiman; Mr Nnena Ukeje, PDP gubernatorial candidate for Cross River State, Senator S. O. Onor, Hon N Ukeje, and Senator Mao Ohabunwa, PDP National Vice Chairman, South-South, Chief Dan Orbih and former gubernatorial aspirant of the party in Osun State, Omoba Dotun Babayemi.

Recall that PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor Wike have been at loggerheads over the removal of the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorcha Ayu and the need for the South to produce the party’s National Chairman, since the residential candidate is from the North, where Ayu Hails from.
