The governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has constituted an implementation committee for the SUSTAINABLE ACTION for ECONOMIC RECOVERY, SAfER initiative.
A statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dọtun Oyelade, the setting up of the committee is in fulfilment of the promise made by the governor in his statewide address to the people of Oyo State on Saturday
Tbe committee, according g to Oyelade, is saddled with the responsibility of implementing the SAfER agenda of the Makinde administration for the citizens of the Oace Setter State to cushion the hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.
Headed by the Chief if Staff to the governor, Hon. Segun Oyewunmi, the 15-man committee has as members the state Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Musibau Babatunde as secretary.
Other members are: the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Akinola Ojo; the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye; the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Segun Olayiwola.
Other members of the committee include: the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Oyelade; the Special Adviser, SA, on Labour Matters to Governor Makinde, Comrade Bayo Titilola-Sodo; Senior Executive Assistant, SEA, General Duties, Chief Bayo Lawal; the Executive Assistant, EA, Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Kolawole Gafar.
Other members are: the Commissioner of Police, Sunday Odukoya (rtd); Senior Special Assistant, SSA, Special Duties, Miss Ololade Ajibola.
The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Muslim community are represented by Bishop Daniel Oluwajimade and Alhaji Muniru Ogundipe respectively.
The Oyo State Council if the Nigerian Union if Journalists, NUJ, is represented on the committee by its state chairman, Mr. Ademola Babalola, while the civil society organisations, CSOs is represented by Mr. Jide Bamgbose.
The governor advised the committee to let the sufferings of the masses propel their loyalty, even as he admonished them to move with speed and efficiency.
The committee will hold its inaugural meeting on Tuesday.
