…Congratulates Famojuro On Conferment Of Chieftaincy Title
The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of YSEG Hotels and Suites, Ibadan, Oyo State, Hon. Olayinka Oladimeji Segelu, has hailed the recent appointment of Alhaji Omolewa Tomiwa as the Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System, PMS, by Governor Seyi Makinde.
Describing the appointment as well-deserved, Hon Segelu, in a statement expressed confidence that Alhaji Tomiwa, fondly referred to as Tommy, will discharge his duties diligently and perform excellently well in the new assignment given to him by Governor Makinde.
He said, “I have known Alhaji Omolewa Tomiwa, alias Tommy, for over 30 years and I still maintain a very cordial relationship with him. He is indeed a decent, honest and nice man to the core, always ready to go the extra miles to deliver in whatever task given to him. He takes great delight in doing good and offering help to people. He would tell you, ‘we don’t know where our children may be tomorrow, so it is good to do whatever good you can.’
“I recall my visit to him sometimes ago. I remember how some boys came to his house and how he handlled them with tact and decency. I see him as a man of discipline. And so, I believe that he will apply a disciplined approach to the running of the affairs of the PMS. He is one man that I know would always strive not to break the rules of the game in whatever he does.”
Segelu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, added, “He (Tommy) is the right choice for the position. Look at how he has quickly organized himself without waiting for anyone to show him direction. This is simply because he has been part of the system for years. So, Tommy is on the seat of the PMS Chairman as a round peg in a round hole.
“I hereby appeal to all, particularly those raising issues about the appointment of Tommy – let all hands be on deck to support Alhaji Omolewa Tomiwa for peace to reign in Oyo State.
“Alhaji Tomiwa, you have started well. May God guide you aright, as I wish you a successful tenure. Congratulations once more!”
In a separate statement, Hon Segelu also congratulated Chief Seye Famojuro, a highly respected and most trusted ally of Governor Makinde, on his installation as the Balogun Bobajiroro of Orile Igbon.
The chieftaincy title was conferred on Otunba Famojuro by a first class monarch in Yoruband, Oba Francis Olushola Alao, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Ogbomosho Zone, who is also the Vice-Chairman, Oyo State Council Of Obas and Chiefs.
According to Segelu, “The conferment of the chieftaincy title, Balogun Bobajiroro of Orile Igbon, on Otunba Famojuro, a bridge builder, who has contributed greatly to the growth and development of Oyo State, is a well deserved honour. Chief Famojuro is undoubtedly a top figure among those that have been instrumental to the success of Makinde’s administration. He played key role in the reorganization of the PMS which now has Alhaji Tomiwa as Chairman.”
The YSEG Hotels and Suites boss further stated that “even though he is not holding any political office in Makinde’s government, the newly installed Balogun Bobajiroro of Orile Igbon is seen to have shown greater dedication, commitment and passion towards Makinde’s success in office as the governor, more than those serving in the administration.
He added, “The decision of Oba Alao, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, to confer the chieftaincy title on a completely loyal and dependable ally of our performing governor is well considered. Famojuro is a kind-hearted man who has positively affected many lives and done much for the advancement of humanity.”
