The Osun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, will on Friday induct the Olowu of Kuta, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama, Tegbosun III, into the NUJ Hall of Fame as part of activities to mark the 2022 edition of the Press Week.
A statement issued by the chairman of the Osun NUJ, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu, and the Secretary, Comrade Bukola Elufadejin, respectively, the ceremony will hold at the palace of Olowu Kuta.
The induction of Oba Makama into the NUJ Hall of Fame is as a result of his contributions to national issues and his support for the Nigerian military as well as the media.
Oba Makama will join other nationalists, such as former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Dr. Yemi Farounbi in the Osun State NUJ Hall of Fame.
Induction into the NUJ Hall of Fame is accorded nationalists, prominent traditional rulers and captains of industries, who have contributed immensely to the development and economic well being of Nigeria.
The statement urged members of the union to converge at the Press Centre by 12.30pm in the afternoon for onward movement to Owu Kuta.
It also enjoined the leadership of various chapels to mobilize their members for the programme.
