Foremost traditional ruler in Yorubaland, the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has described the appointment of a son of the ancient town as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State; Professor Wahab Egbewole, as well a deserved appointment.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Director of Media and Publicity to the Arole Oodua, Otunba Moses Adefare, and made available to the media, the Ooni congratulated the Ife-born don for his emergence as the new Vices Chancellor, VC, of the University of Ilorin.

Ooni Ogunwusi told the new VC that his latest status is a true reflection of his decades of investment in the growth of Nigeria’s education sector through the University of Ilorin.

Arole Oduduwa said, “I am so proud and I cannot but congratulate you very warmly.

“Going further, I want you to sustain the virtues upon which you became the latest VC in Nigeria and also step it up now that you have a bigger platform to impact lives and help develop our dear country’s educational sector.”

Ile Ife-born Professor Egbewole, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, who specialises in Law and Jurisprudence, was named the 12th VC of the university on Thursday evening by the Governing Council of the institution.
