Contrary to news circulating in the social media, Prophetess Naomi Silekunola has yet to return to Ile Oodua as the wife of Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, after her divorce post on Instagram, according to palace sources.

Social media platforms, Facebook and WhatsApp, had been agog with news of reconciliation of the African foremost traditional rulers and his estrange Olori.

The unconfirmed message claimed that elders from both families met in Akure, the Ondo State capital, where she relocated.

One of the messages circulating read, “Battle is over. Ooni of Ife and Queen Naomi Ogunwusi settle as Akure and Ile-Ife elders meet the family this evening…as Queen Naomi Ogunwusi’s mother apologises.”

Palace sources confirmed that a reconciliation move was made, but they insisted that the move was not successful yet.

There were reports that some elders from Ile-Ife made a last-minute move to reconcile the Ooni and his estranged Queen.

Recall that the prophetess had on Thursday, December 23, 2021, in a statement she posted on her verified Instagram handle, announced an end to her three-year-old marriage with the Ooni.

However, when contacted on Thursday over the message circulating on social media, one of the elders involved in the reconciliation move said, “Both parties have been persuaded to return, but no feedback yet from one of them. The last time we heard from them, they said the family will meet and decide.”

When asked which party is yet to give feedback, the prominent Ife elder replied, “You can’t know.”

One of the palace aides added, “No reconciliation yet. We are in the palace. Queen Naomi is not here and her room is still locked.

“We have not been asked to prepare to welcome her.”

The Ooni’s Director of Media and Publicity, Chief Moses Olafare, when contacted, debunked the report that Prophetess Naomi has returned to the palace.

On whether the Arole Oduduwa and his queen had reconciled, Chief Olafare said, “I am not aware.

“Likewise, Queen Naomi is not in the palace. We are all here with Kabiesi.”

Prodded to give further insight to the reconciliation moves, he declined.

Meanwhile the unconfirmed rumored reconciliation has thrown the social media into a frenzy, with many Nigerians expressing delight at seeing the monarch and his wife back.

Expressing their delight on Facebook and Twitter, where the unconfirmed message was trending, one Nwamaka Nwokedi said, “Let this be permanent. Father Lord, heal this marriage, in Jesus’ name. Amen!!!!”

One Damilola Odediran said, “Thank God, I love seeing them together, Olori easy, please.”

Omoobabinrin Olayemi said, “Thank God for this great news. Next time she will stay away from social media. It is ridiculous for an Olori to go to social media to announce a divorce.”

Another Nigerian, Rotimi Jooda, added, “Thank God, our prayer has been answered. God is not happy when a family (husband and wife) falls apart. Rather He rejoices when differences could be handled and from there the family moves forward. So happy for you Olori Naomi.”

Others include: Yetunde Owodunni, who said, “If this is true, I am so happy for both of them, may the Lord continue to bless their union;” while Badmus Adunni enthused, “God you are great, those talking nonsense has been put to shame. I’m so happy for the Queen.”
