A traditional ruler in Ekiti-State, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olatunji Olatunde, the Onimesi of Imesi-Ekiti, in Ayedire Local Community Development Area, LCDA, of Ekiti State, has organised a special traditional prayer session to mark the 7th coronation anniversary of the Arole Oduduwa and Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
Oba Olatunde, who embarked on a 7- hour traditional prayers session in his palace yesterday said that Ooni Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, who he described as the re-incarnation of the great Oduduwa, the father and progenitor of the Oduduwa race, deserves special prayer sessions on his 7th coronation anniversary, because of his mission on the throne for the Yoruba race.
The Onimesi said, “He has been divinely saddled by his creator to create and plant wonderful, incredible, amazing, terrific, extraordinary and many other positive things that will stun the sensibility of many. Thus, he needs prayers for total accomplishment, fulfilment and appreciation, particularly on the anniversary of his seven years reign on the throne of his forefathers.”
In an engagement with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN in his palace on Thursday, Oba Olatunde revealed that the traditional prayer session, which commenced at noon yesterday ended at 7 pm, because 7 is a perfect number which is significant in traditional and spiritual platforms.
Oba Olatunde said “Ooni Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, is an enigmatic being whose conception, birth, names, strides in life, emergence as Ooni, act, deeds, pronouncements, body language and gait are spiritual, sacred, strange, weird and full of characterisation of the historic Oduduwa.
“Hence, his seventh coronation anniversary deserves special traditional prayers.”

Ooni Oguwusi’s seven years on the throne of his forefathers have been spectacularly historic, legendary and full of landmarks never witnessed in Ile-Ife and Yoruba land.
Oba Olatunde remarked that Oba Ogunwusi’s seven years on the throne have brought unprecedented peace and blossoming relationship within the traditional rulers in Yoruba land and laid to rest the tussle for superiority among the sons of Oduduwa.
He added that said “he has, within seven years, normalised and stabilised the relationship between Ile-Ife and its neighbours, thereby instilling a sustainable alliance based on trust, genuine love, friendship and symbiotic relationship.”
The Onimesi also pointed out that “Ooni Ojaja II has also within seven years travelled all over the world to re-establish and re-unite with sons and daughters of Oduduwa race in the Diaspora, and also spread his royal tentacles within Africa, to re-integrate Oduduwa’s offsprings back to the source – Ile- Ife.
“My inauguration of a 7-hour traditional prayer session to mark Ooni seven years on the throne is in tandem with my relationship with Ooni Ojaja, who has a glowing interest for the development of Imesi Ekiti, the original homes of all the Imesis in the world. I pray to God Almighty, to accept our prayers and grant him long life in good health and tremendous prosperity.”
