Residents of Akoko South-East/South-West federal constituency of Ondo State were on Monday treated to another round of empowerment by the former member of the House of Representatives, who represented the constituency in the 9th National Assembly, Hon Adejoro Adeogun, on Monday, June 26.
The kind-hearted former member of the green chamber distributed buses and motorcycles to many deserving members of the constituency.
One beneficiary selected from each of the 26 wards of the federal constituency was gifted a motorcycle each; just as seven buses were also gifted to seven different cooperative societies in the constituency.
Speaking at the empowerment programme, Hon Adeogun said that his love for his people is the reason why the empowerment was taking place, despite that his tenure at the lower chamber of the National Assembly had lapsed.
He said, “Service has no tenure, I was already serving the people, renovating schools, providing water, renovating faulty bore holes for communities and other projects before I got elected. Being elected was just a phase in my service career, we have to continue to serve.”
Adeogun informed the people that his service to them is not premised on his tenure as a member of the House of Representatives, adding that he will always continue to give helping hands to his constituency to make life meaningful for his people.
In his speech, the Chief of Staff, CoS, to Hon Adeogun, Elder Femi Agbede, described the former member of the lower chamber of the National Assembly “as a kind-hearted person, who is always ready to give at all times, and always have his people in mind.
Agbede revealed that Hon Adeogun facilitated the empowerment through the Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology, NITT, in Zaria.
One of the beneficiaries of the empowerment initiative, Oyewole Oluwafemi Victor, described Hon Adeogun has a kind-hearted man who has the love of his people in mind, and appreciated him for the empowerment, praying God to continue to elevate him.
In attendance at the empowerment programme were chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the federal constituency, NITT representative, traditional rulers from different communities, religious leaders, beneficiaries of the empowerment initiatives, as well as residents of the various communities in the constituency.
Investigations by CompassNG indicated that the federal no constituency has never had it so good since 1999, when the present Democratic experiment took off like they did between 2091 and 2023.
CompassNG reports that Hon Adeogun had in the four years of his quality representation of Akoko South-East/South-West federal constituency raised the bar of representation such that it will probably be extremely difficult for any representative after him to meet wipe with or surpass.
