A group of Ogun State indigenes in the Diaspora, under the aegis of the Ogun State Diasporans, has launched a song to boost the re-election bid of the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

The song was in support of the election campaigns of the governor, who is seeking for re-election to return to the Government House on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The Ogun State Diaspornas used the song to highlight some of the achievements of the governor since he assumed office in 2019, and why he should be re-elected.

Coordinator of the group, Engineer Okuyemi Ogundele, while addressing a news conference in Abeokuta on Thursday, disclosed why the group is supporting Governor Abiodun’s re-election bid.

He said that after a clinical assessment of all the candidates contesting for the position, the group concluded that the incumbent governor remained the best.

Ogundele disclosed that the state had witnessed tremendous development under the Governor Abiodun-led administration from 2019 to date.

He said, “The Ogun State government, under Governor Abiodun, had provided jobs, youth empowerment and infrastructural development, among others.

“We are supporting Governor Abiodun’s re-election bid because we believe that there is no alternative to him and his running mate at this moment.

“Governor Abiodun and his deputy are the best team for the job. Their achievements so far are enough to prove us right.

“We from the Diaspora are willing to partner with the state government in its efforts to make our dearest state second to none in the country.

“Ogun State has the largest number of Nigerian professionals abroad. The diasporans are prepared to bring more investors on board.

“We are also ready to invest in the state. If permitted, we would help the government to develop a diaspora village.

“The government only needs to provide the land and we will establish a city with decent and affordable housing projects.”

Ogundele, however, appealed to Governor Abiodun to work closely with the diasporans to take the state to the next level.
