The candidate for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for the forthcoming February 26 Ogoja/Yala federal constituency bye-election, Mr. Jude Ngaji, yesterday called on his teeming supporters and partt faithful not to worry themselves, as the party is doing the necessary consultation that would aide the party and it’s candidate to sweep the poll.

Ngaji, a former Special Adviser on State Security to Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade, averred that his party, the APC, shall coast home to victory in the upcoming election.

The former SA made the assertion while fielding questions from journalists in Calabar yesterday, shortly after members of the APC Appeal Committee affirmed him as the authentic APC candidate to slug it out with other contenders, especial thee rival Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the election.

Ngaji had emerged as a consensus candidate of the APC, after the party had found him worthy to fly its banner to slug it out with his yet to be known PDP rival.

Ngaji’s candidature was endorsed by the APC at a special congress that took place Ogoja Local Government Area of the state.

He said, “I am sure we are going to win the election very well and with a landslide, and send a message to the world that the APC is entrenched in Cross River North senatorial district.

“Our supporters are elated, they cannot wait, from Bakassi to Obanliku, everybody is waiting for this election and that is why they thought I’m the best candidate that can win this election.

“Do not forget that we have been able to take this state into the APC completely, as the governor has said and we have locked the state and thrown the key to the river, no one can unlock it, even the governor cannot find it right now.”

The former SA averred that there is no victor and no vanquished in the process leading to his emergence, lauding the APC leadership as well as the state governor, Professor Ayade for socketing the state to the APC.

He added, “There was no victor and no vanquished; I’m not a preacher of Yala 1 and 2, I represent Yala and believe in that unity of Yala .

“I am grateful to the leadership of the party, lead by Barrister Alphonsus and particularly the governor of Cross River State, who though did not make himself available throughout this process, but we will always be grateful to him for socketing to the centre.”
