The Kwara State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mrs. Fransisca Olaleye, has praised the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, ‎for coming to the rescue of the scheme in the state and bailing the scheme out of its sorry state.

Commending the governor at the swearing-in of the 2,100 corps members deployed to Kwara State and who took oath of allegiance during the 2020 Batch ‘A’ Orentation Course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Olaleye said the governor had done a lot to make the orientation camp habitable and fit for the corps members.

The Kwara State NYSC Orientation Camp had been rated second worst in the country, ‎coming after Niger State NYSC Orientation Camp, in the areas of infrastructures and very bad living conditions.

She said, “Within the space of nine months in office, His Excellency has visited this orientation camp twice on working visits, donated some relief materials to the camp and graciously renovated three male hostels.

“These three hostels have gone a long way to boost the accommodation capacity on the camp and make lives more conducive for corps members during their orientation course.”

While like Oliver Twist, she requested for more support and assistance, Mrs Olaleye said, “ I wish to humbly solicit the support of the government and the good people of Kwara State and other stakeholders in order to move the NYSC scheme in the state to the next level.”

She appealed to the governor to come to the aid of the scheme in constructing a perimeter fence round the orientation camp to secure it from vandals, miscreants and thieves.
