The Nigerian Union of Agriculture and Allied Employees, NUAAE, Cross River Basin Development Authority, CRBDA, branch yesterday lauded the basin auuthority leadership for its developmental strides.
NUAAE Chairman, Comrade Joseph Etim, dropped the commendation while sending forth past union executive members yesterday in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
Lauding the management of CRBDA, under the watch of Engr. Bassey Nkposong, for the implementation of policy and programmes that has lifted the Authority to an enviable height, Etim said that the exco is proud to associate itself with Nkposong’s giant strides, right from when he assumed office and began to pilot affairs for the Authority.
Other issues which the union exco claimed it’s identifying with tge Authority’s management under the watch of Nkposong, include his strides in the area of infrastructural facilities and staff welfare, which he swiftly handled when the need arose.
Etim added that the event, which is aimed at giving recognition and at least say thank you to those who contributed in one way or the other towards assisting the Authority to get to the height it now attained, calling on union members and entire staff to re-strategize for the task ahead in the years to come.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion who doubles as the Managing Director, MD, Implementing Technology Nigeria Limited, Mr. Uko Inaku, averred that he is proud to be associated with the union, especially with regards to its relationship with the management.
Inaku advocated for dialogue whenever misunderstanding arises between management and the union, stressing that for progress to be archived in the establishment, a smooth working relationship needs to be created between both parties.
Speaking, the Managing Director of the CRBDA, who was recognized as the Most Union Friendly Chief Executive Officer of the Authority for 2021, said the award belonged to the management and staff of the Authority, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the Authority was not brought to its knees especially, during the #EndSARS protests.
Engr. Nkposong appreciated the union for recognizing not only the past executive of the union, but also outstanding stakeholders, who have contributed to the success of the Authority over the years.
The state Chairman of the NUAAE, Comrade Godwin Ote, who said he was impressed at the smooth working relationship existing between the management and the union in the Authority called on sister unions in other establishments to emulate the cordial working relationship existing in the Authority.
The event brought together stakeholders from within and outside the Authority, including the Executive Directors and the General Manager of Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, Calabar, Mr. Samuel Olajide, among others.
