Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, LASUBEB, Hon Wahab Alawiye-King, has been elected by his colleague-chairmen across the country as the Dean (Chairman) of Forum of SUBEB Chairmen in Nigeria.
Alawiye-King’s election was part of the highlights of the quarterly meeting of the executive chairmen of SUBEBs in Nigeria, under th aegis of Forum of SUBEB Chairmen, themed: ‘Enhancing Access, Equity and Standards in Basic Education Through T chmology-Driven Initiatives, which held in Benin City, the Edo Stat capital between November 15 and 18, 2021.
The new Dean of Forum of SUBEB Chairmen, an adherent of digital transformation of the basic education sector, was a two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, where he served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology.
A team-player in the actualisation of the Education and Technology pillar in the THEMES Agenda of the administration of the Lagos State governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Alawiye-King’s election as leader of the Chairmen of the SUBEBs of the 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, is seen as putting a round peg in a round hole, as he is expected to bring to bear on the basic education sector of the country his wealth of experience in that sector.
The election of Alawiye-King by his colleagues in the Forum of SUBEB Chairmen as Dean is equally in recognition of his giant strides and the various pacesetting innovations he has brought to bear on the basic education sector of Lagos State.
