The paramount ruler of Iwoland, the Oluwo of Iwo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdoulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has appealed to Osun State youths to remain calm and avoid destroying jay property over the lingering new naira swap crisis bedeviling the nation.
The Oluwo made the appeal in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, where he acknowledge the peace-loving spirit of the youths, charging them to continue to remain peaceful and orderly.
The statement reads, “I specially commend the active youth of Osun State for maintaining peace and order despite the hardship inflicted on innocent masses by the new naira regime.
“While acknowledging your peace loving spirit, I appeal for further calm, orderliness and protection of both public and private properties. Our banks and their workers are not at fault. Don’t touch them.
“There is no much infrastructure in Osun. Let’s protect our state against infrastructural deficit. Don’t destroy banks. Whatever will do to public and private properties will have huge effect on our collective economy.”
Charging the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to consider the suffering of the masses and halt the new naira policy, Oba Akanbi “enjoined Osun youths to be peace loving and sustain the path of honour.”
