The new Commissioner of Police, CP, for Kwara State Police Command, Tuesday Assayomo has resumed office.
Assayomo is replacing the former Police Commissioner, Mohammed Lawal Bagega, who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General, AIG, of Police and moved from the state.
Speaking with journalists on arrival,
Assayomo said that he would embark on restructuring of the Command in line with international best police practices to combat crimes in the state.
The new CP also said the Command under his watch would collaborate with all stakeholders, promising that kidnappers in particular and other criminals would have a tough time while he is in command.
Assayomo said that a strong team has been constituted to make wide investigations on the activities of cultists and cyber-criminals in the state, warning criminals to turn a new leaf or relocate from the state.
The state new Police boss said that the command under his watch would prosecute with immediate dispatch, any criminal caught in accordance with the provisions of the law.
The Commissioner of Police further pledged to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor by strengthening the existing collaborations between the Command and the security community in the state to ensure that citizens sleep at night with both eyes closed.
