A pro-democracy organization, Pan-Lagos Youth Movement, PLYM, has commended former governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his reported endorsement of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office.

Leader of the group, Comrade Adewale Oladipupo, in a media chat in Lagos at the weekend, said, “If the story read on the Nigerian Xpress Online platform is anything to go by, it simply translate that Tinubu and the Lagos APC Lagos want to repeat the 2019 feat of which we have not regretted.”

According to him, the APC presidential hopeful must have searched the mind of the people of the state over the performance of Sanwo-Olu and must have reached the conclusion that they want him back for another term, confirming that, that endorsement is a long awaited development and a heartily welcome right step to the right direction.

Assuring the APC National Leader, the state chapter of the party, Governor Sanwo-Olu and the entire members of the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC, of his group’s support, Comrade Oladipupo inisisted that “ours is an organization that identifies with any performer that can guarantee good governance to the people.”

The youth leader, who praised the foresightedness of the APC leadership in Lagos over the advent of Sanwo-Olu in 2019, promised to rally round them again this time, cautioning however that “the party should put its house in order so as not to allow saboteurs to throw spanners into the wheel of the party before, during and after the primaries.”

Oladipupo was reacting to the news item, “Lagos State governor, Mr.Babajide Sanwo-Olu will be contesting for a second term in office,” by the online version of The Nigerian Xpress, which quoted a top member of the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC,” the state’s apex decision making body for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The youth leader therefore expressed enthusiasm and anxiety over the report that, “Sanwo-Olu may likely make the declaration at the coming National Convention of the party on Saturday, March 26 at the Eagles Square, Abuja.”

While expressing the delights over the news item, the group’s leader was of the conviction that “coming back for a second term in office will give him the opportunity to build more on the foundation he has built and scattered across the state,”
