Ahead of the May 29 swearing-in and handover ceremony to usher in the administration of the Cross River State governor-elect, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, the state government has set up nine different committees, with former Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba as Chairman of the inauguration committee.
This was contained in a press release signed by Barrister Christian Ita, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the outgoing Governor Ben Ayade.
The press statement stated that Hon. Eric Anderson is to work as secretary of the Ndoma-Egba-led 163-member inauguration committee.
Some of the other prominent Cross Riverians in the inauguration committee are High Chief Edem Duke, Ambassador Soni Abang, Senator John Owan Enoh, Mrs. Winifred Oyo Ita, Hon. Alex Irek, Prof. Patrick Asuquo and Dr. Betta Edu, among others.
Other committees constituted include transition, reception, finance, legal and legislative, commissioning, mobilization, environment and security.
The seven-member transition committee is headed by Elder (Chief) Asuquo Ekpenyong, while the secretary is Mr. Fidelis Ugbo.
Senator Florence Ita-Giwa is heading the reception committee, with Arch. Bassey Eyo Edem as secretary. The security committee is chaired by Major General Okoi Obono, rtd, while the secretary is Mr. Patrick Eneji.
The finance committee has Goddy Ettah as chairman and Ajah Francis Ajah as secretary; while the commissioning committee is made up of all commissioners, all chairmen and vice chairmen of local government councils, all councilors and National Assembly members-elect and is chaired by the outgoing deputy governor, Prof. Ivara Esu.
