Manchester United have announced that new signing, Cristiano Ronaldo, will wear the number 7 shirt.
The club, known as the Red Devils, confirmed the news on social media on Thursday night.
Ronaldo is taking the iconic jersey number from Edinson Cavani, who the club also revealed that will now wear jersey number 21, he wore at Paris Saint-Germain, PSG.
Recall that Manchester United’s number 7 jersey has previously been worn by many of the club’s greatest ever footballers, such as George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona and David Beckham.
Ronaldo had also dorned the number 7 jersey during his first stint at the club 12 years ago.
Meanwhile, the 36-year-old Ronaldo is expected to mark his second debut for the club after the international break, when Newcastle United visit Old Trafford.
