The Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Friday, January 31, approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, which affected the Ministries of Education, Science and Technology and Establishment and Training.
In a statement made available to newsmen and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Adisa Taiwo, the minor cabinet reshuffle, which saw the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology and his Establishment and Training counterpart trading places, was confirmed.
The governor, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa, confirmed the swapping of the portfolios of Commissioners for Education, Science and Technology and Establishment and Training.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Daud Kehinde Sangodoyin was moved to the Ministry of Establishment and Training, while the man at the helms if affairs at the Ministry to that of Establishment and Training, Barr. Olasunkanmi Aremu Olaleye, took over in the Education, Science and Technology Ministry.
According to the statement, the change takes immediate effect.
Adisa revealed that a letter, dated 31 January, 2020, which was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, communicated the decision of Governor Makinde to effect the minor cabinet reshuffle.
The two commissioners were part of the 14 first batch of commissioners inaugurated by Governor Makinde on August 15, 2019.
The new Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Prof. Sangodoyin, obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees from the University of Ibadan and was the first lecturer to be promoted to the rank of full professor of Statistics at the University of Botswana.
Barr. Olaleye, the new helmsman at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, holds a Bachelor of Laws, Barrister at Law and LL.M degrees and has at different periods served as the chairman, Oyo State Land Allocation Committee and Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC.
