With the end of sales and submission of Express of Interest, EoI and nomination forms by aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State, for the forthcoming local council election, the party is set to commence its screening exercise for aspirants on Saturday, 15 May 2021.

The exercise will hold at the state secretariat of the party, at Acme Road, Igba, Ikeja, for chairmanship aspirants and the party offices at the local governments for councillorship aspirants.

Lagos APC secretary, Hon Lanre Ogunyemi, who gave this hint, revealed that 332 chairmanship aspirants for the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas, LCDAs are expected to be screened, while 1053 councillorship aspirants will undergo the screening exercise across the state.

Overall, 1,387 aspirants are expected to be screened in an exercise scheduled to end on Friday, 21 May 2021; while appeals on screening will start on Saturday, 22 May and end on Wednesday, 26 May 2021.

The primary election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 29 May 2021 and appeals on the primaries will be heard between Monday, 31 May and Wednesday, 1 June 2021.

Hon Ogunyemi said that the party intends to adhere strictly to its set-out timelines in conformity with the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, timetable.
