Following governments directive to close all schools in an attempt to curtail the rapid spread of COVID-19, the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, LASUBEB, has provided immediate educational support and programmes to minimise the consequent disruption to facilitate continuous learning, especially for the vulnerable within the state.
A statement by the Public Affairs Unit of LASUBEB made available to newsmen disclosed that the Board has introduced a radio broadcast of academic contents, aimed at providing a holistic support to public primary school pupils during this critical period.

The interactive radio instruction programme, designed to keep the pupils academically engaged in spite of school closure, would be aired on two local radio stations; namely EKO FM 89.7 and Radio Lagos 107.5FM.
The programme has also been carefully designed to make learning fun and engaging for the pupils.  The lessons for pupils in Primary 1 and 2 are: ‘Kokoka’ and ‘L’abe Igi Orombo,’ which will be aired from Monday to Thursday between 9:30am and 11:55am on Radio Lagos – 107.5FM.  Other programmes for pupils in Primary 3, 4, 5 and 6 include: ‘Animal Garden,’ Learning is Fun,’ ‘Lets Go Learning’ and ‘Aunty Bola’s Workshop,’ which will be aired from Monday to Thursday between 10.30am and 1pm on Eko FM 89.7.

The Public Affairs Unit of LASUBEB said, “As government continues to make frantic effort to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, we hereby encourage parents and guardians to utilize these platforms to keep their wards productively engaged, monitor their health and keep them home and safe.”
