Kwara State has recorded a total figure of 1,496 confirmed cases of COVIC-19 and 32 deaths since the pandemic started last year.

A table by the State Technical Committe on COVID-19, headed by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi, on Tuesday showed that 183 cases out of the total figure remain active while 1,281 had been treated and discharged.

Meanwhile, 13,215 testing were conducted with 11,502 returning negative, thanks to the decentralization of government testing centres across the 16 local councils across the state.

However, there are still 217 pending tests as at Tuesday, according to COVID-19 Technical Committe table.

The state had, of late, intensified advocacies on strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols, while a curfew between 12 midnight and 4.am imposed before Christmas season as well as ban on social gatherings, limited congregational numbers at worship centres, were still being enforced.
