The Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has banned any form of party or media advertisement for him on his birthday coming up next week.
In a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaiye, the governor would rather spend his birthday anniversary in personal reflections on God’s unmatched kindness to him.
The statement reads in part, “Consequently, he (Governor AbdulRazaq) requests that no government agency or functionaries should hold any birthday bash or publish any advertorial for him or in his honour.
“He appeals to friends, family members and well-wishers not to do so too. Instead, he calls on such individuals who may want to do anything for him to channel such to charities of their choices.”
The governor’s birthday anniversary comes up on February 5 when he would be celebrating his diamond jubilee.
